Suffix Separator is an AppleScript to separate files with different suffixes, to their own folders, which are created to the desktop. I honestly don’t know what’s the use for these, but anyway, i wanted to try my beginner skills on AppleScript scripting. Tell me what you think about these scripts...
Supported suffixes
- .sit, .sea, .bin, .hqx, .zip
Still to come (in future versions)
- Problem number 1 in version 1.0, which is, that when there is already a folder named for example ".bin (MacBinary)" in the desktop, the script stops. Going to be fixed so that the script will continue it’s work by moving the files containing the suffix .??? to the appropriate folder.
- More suffixes coming to be supported, including .jpg/.jpeg, .gif, .png, .txt, .mid, .aif/.aiff, .wav, .snd, .pcx, .pict, .pic, .html/.htm, .shtml, .dhtml, .xml, .mov, .mpg, .mp3, .mp3 and .avi.
- Different suffix folders to be collected in a single folder "Separated by Suffix Separator" in order to minimize the space used on desktop.
Please tell me your suggestions to make these scripts better and better in their future versions.
